Under the Big Tent - the Tasting Tent
Bucks-For-Bones
Enjoy the best ribs in town prepared by the hottest grill teams in the area! If you don't mind licking your fingers, this is the place for you! This is how it works: purchase your tickets, $1.50 for one rib Bone, from the Information Booth or Ticket Booth then redeem your tickets at the Tasting Tent for great tasting ribs ~ its that easy! This gives you an opportunity to sample a rib from a variety of Beltway BBQ Showdown competitors and other grillers. It's the best deal in town! Food is limited ~ get ‘em while they last!
The People Choice Rib Contest
10 random visitors will be selected to be ‘Rib Judge for the Day’. These judges will have the opportunity to taste and vote for the best ribs which determine the winner of the $500 prize. Who knows – this year’s judge may be you!
The Sauce Boss Contest
Enjoy different sauces from Beltway BBQ competition teams. Voting is simple: for $1 get 3 chicken samples, select from the variety of savory sauces, then vote for your favorite! The winner will be declared and announced from the main stage at the end of the day. Some of the sauces are available for purchase from the teams. Come early; sauces and meats are limited!
Cooking Demonstrations
Check out informative, creative and innovative demos from our master chef who will share professional secrets, recipes and kitchen skills to improve your way around the kitchen and grill! It wouldn't be a cooking demonstration without tasty, free samples.(PDF).
Around the Grounds
Beer and Wine Garden
Adults with proper identification (ID) will be able to purchase a beverage in the garden area near the main stage. Enjoy the performances with a beer or glass of wine in hand!
Children's Amusement Area
Let your child be a kid with the fun attractions; moon bounces, games, face painting, and craft projects. And for everyone, we'll have a commemorative photo stand. Check out the animals in the Petting Farm! Commemorative Photo Stand
